the sence of community, friendships and story telling, peiple in the town are QUITE'' welcoming. the history and pride associated with people in the town very high, like any other town its the few people that do cause trouble, so do not let this over shadow the good and great people that do so much in such a small town, i have been to inner city cork a few times recently and it is the lowest place a human could grow up, people move out of it and spread there disfunctional opinions of places whilst locking themselves in doors as they think they are above others whom grasp the sence of community,

In order to appreciate ANYWHERE and in order to qualify for an opinion on anywhere, you need to become part of that community by joining a club, society or group - or even just socialising there. Tuam is a great town with great community spirit. It offers so much to so many - Marion Choral along side many other drama and dance groups, local sports clubs and an excellent variety of boutiques/bookstores/shoe shops/competitive supermarkets are just a few of many I list. It has 2 pretty amazing Cathedrals alongside other visitor attractions. Community spirit came to the forefront recently when the local public voluntarily tidied up and made a focal point - our train station... Like every other town in Ireland, there is a a small amount of anti social behaviour, but this is minimal contrary to some press reports. Great town - great location :)
