A lot better than expected ! - spent one day there recently - good infrastructure, shops, restaurants and many interesting historical sites.

Not bad at all - don't know what all the negatively is about ? Complete Irish town with normal issues, but huge potential ! What is really needs is a large shopping center consolidating all the other bitsy shopping areas - Ramparts, Shopping Outlets ...
Not bad at all - don't know what all the negatively is about ? Complete Irish town with normal issues, but huge potential ! What is really needs is a large shopping center consolidating all the other bitsy shopping areas - Ramparts, Shopping Outlets on the coes road, Marshes, various Dunnes Stores, etc - if they could only bring all this together close to the center the town would have a major shopping draw.

Seems to be one of most under-rated towns in Ireland ? Has got everything - shops, pubs, restaurants, historical buildings, etc. Was told not to go there before I left for a short trip around Ireland, but it ended up being one of the highlights of...

Dundalk has a lovely architectural style all of its own. It also has lovely views to the mountains to the north. However it does not take advantage of its coastal location, it does not connect enough to the sea. Dundalk Bay is the top spot in Ireland...
Dundalk has a lovely architectural style all of its own. It also has lovely views to the mountains to the north. However it does not take advantage of its coastal location, it does not connect enough to the sea. Dundalk Bay is the top spot in Ireland for over-wintering waterbirds but it is not easy for the casual observer to see them. Dundalk needs more coastal access and birdhides etc.
